Recto: Some paper nicks at the bottom edge. Otherwise appears in good condition. Verso: Paper nicks more obvious from the back side. there is some minor staining on the back from what appears to be light foxing.

About this Piece

As with many of the Texas Regionalists, Maples played with surreal aspects in her works. In this case the ocean elements of the shells in the foreground become the edge of the back to the marine painting in the background.
