About this Artist

"...John was born in Houghton, Michigan in 1920. He served in the Air Force from 1942-1945. John studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, the Art Students League in New York, Colorado Springs Fine Art Center, and Escuela Bellas Artes in San Miguel, Mexico. A painter and educator, John taught fine art at the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts from 1950 to 1952, and at the University of Texas from 1953 to 1980.

John retired from the University of Texas as a Professor Emeritus. His work was selected for the Smithsonian Institute Archive of American Artists. He was chosen as an Academician of the National Academy of Design in New York..."
